English Backs Border Security Initiatives

Washington, D.C. - The U.S. House of Representatives voted on a series of border security initiatives designed to harden American borders and limit illegal immigration. In response to House passage of the Community Protection Act, Immigration Law Enforcement Act, and Border Tunnel Prevention Act U.S. Rep. Phil English (R-Pa.) released the following statement:

"Through increased enforcement efforts along American borders, our country has experienced a sizeable decrease in the number of illegal crossings.

"Today the House acted to further its mission in hardening our borders by passing a series of comprehensive measures which focus on enhancing border security, strengthening enforcement and ensuring the safety of all Americans.

"Restoring the integrity of our nation's borders is just one of many steps that Congress will have to take in order to successfully overhaul our immigration laws. Today's House passage of these bills serves as yet another step on the road of immigration reform."
